  Model Genova Life Science Analyser
The dedicated spectrophotometers to DNA, protein, direct photometric analysis with great value for money.
  • Genova: Life science analyser.

    Full specifications
    (0.1 MB)
The Genova is designed for the scientist whose primary interest is the study of DNA and proteins. Operation is simple and quick, with all routinely used DNA calculations being pre-programmed into the product. The Genova employs a precision built diffraction grating to select wavelengths and narrow bandwidth, thus avoiding the limited capability of filter based units. Three independent wavelength calibrations are performed during the start-up protocol to guarantee optimum confidence in results and to satisfy G.L.P. procedures.
  • Genova Life Science Analyser - DNA
  • Immediate answers to DNA purity
  • Pre-programmed for user selectable absorbance ratios
  • Direct readout of dsDNA, ssDNA, RNA and Oligo purity
  • Purity scan mode.
  • Optimised for low volume analysis the determination of DNA levels as low as 70ng with sample volumes as low as 20 µl is possible using the capillary sampling accessory. The Genova will automatically calculate ratios at 260/280 or 260/230 with an optional substraction of a third wavelength (typically 320 nm). Alternatively, pre-programmed factors allow direct readings of ssDNA, dsDNA, RNA and Oligonucleotides.
  • Genova Life Science Analyser - Protein
  • Standard pre-programmed parameters for B.C.A, Bradford, Biuret, Lowry and direct measurement
  • Storage of calibration curves
  • Versatile open architecture that allows other wavelengths and accessories for other assays to be performed.
  • The on-board software allows all protein methodologies to be optimised and run on the Genova with a minimum of set-up time. These methodologies can then be viewed on the display for easy interpretation of linearity of response. The Genova has the versatility to change these parameters easily for the scientist who wants to optimise their analysis with different wavelength, curve or constant.
  • Genova Life Science Analyser - Direct Photometric
  • For modes of operation where DNA or protein analysis is not required the Genova can be used in direct photometric mode. In this mode concentration, with a choice of units, as well as the absorbance, transmission and wavelength are displayed.

  • Model 6300/6305
    Model 6300/6305

    Full specifications
    (0.9 MB)
The Model 6300 is designed to provide the user with a high quality, low cost measurement system for routine analysis. A customised LCD gives simultaneous readout of wavelength and photometric result. Error messages, prompts, mode indication and a choice of concentration units are presented in an easily understood format.
  • Non-scanning
  • 8/6nm bandwidth
  • Easy to use
  • Versatile sampling system
  • Full interfacing capability
  • G.L.P. compliant.
  • Simple keypad layout and operating protocols ensure reliable operation by unfamiliar users.
  • An impressive optical performance minimises the stray light by the automatic activation of internal filters, whilst the narrow 8nm bandwidth provides the high degree of selectivity essential for most analytical situations. A precision stepper motor gives excellent positional control for the optical grating ensuring wavelength selection is both accurate and highly repeatable.
  • Calibration curves producing non-linear results can also be accommodated using in-built software and the multi-cell changer. Up to seven data points can be determined automatically and used to construct a calibration curve. A variety of statistical methods are available to ensure a close correlation to all curve shapes.
  • A versatile sampling system comprising a large cell chamber and the variable length cuvette holder allow 10-100mm cells to be accommodated with ease, therefore changing of the sample configuration is quick and simple. Additional sampling flexibility can be gained using 10-25mm diameter test tubes or the optional 4 position cell holder.
  • Full interfacing capability using RS232 interfacing or an analogue output is provided as standard. Utilising the RS232 facility allows results to be down loaded via the front panel print key. The bi-directional interface also allows remote interrogation and control of the 6300.
  • Traceable calibration standards provide the on-going assurance of accuracy required by Good Laboratory Practice (G.L.P.). The 6300 complies fully with EEC and US directives relating to ESD/EMC emission and susceptibility.
  • The xenon lamp source (6305) offers a broad spectral source and extended life, therefore minimising the running costs of the product over its lifetime. The key feature of the lamp is that 40% of the energy of the lamp is emitted below 400nm, with intensity at 260nm which means an extra 5-10 times energy in the UV region compared to deuterium lamps. This makes the 6305 an ideal instrument for protein peptide or DNA studies.
  • A 3 point wavelength calibration is performed each time the 6305 is switched on, by looking at the fixed emission lines of the xenon lamp. This ensures the certainty of wavelength setting (247, 528 and 824nm) and provides the on-going assurance of accuracy required by Good Laboratory Practice (G.L.P.). The 6305 complies fully with EEC and US directives relating to ESD/EMC emission and susceptibility.
  • The model 6310 is a real visible range scanning spectrophotometer.
  • The Model 6320D is designed to provide the user with a high quality, low cost measurement system for routine analysis. The 6320D has modes for Absorbance, %T and Concentration measurement. Calibration is performed against a blank (Abs or %T) and a standard or factor for Concentration. Wavelength selection is made electronically via a finely geared stepper motor with a displayed resolution of 1nm.
  • A customised LCD gives simultaneous readout of wavelength and photometric result. Error messages, prompts, mode indication and a choice of concentration units are presented in an easily understood format.
  • Easy to use
  • Versatile sampling system
  • Full interfacing capability
  • G.L.P. compliant 320-1000nm/8nm SBW
